The Overview
Perfect Properties is a responsive web-app that focuses on creating an easy and engaging experience for new and small-scale property buyers. The goal of Perfect Properties is to provide these buyers with valuable information and a simple design, making their property search journey a breeze.
The Problem
Inexperienced buyers entering the market may encounter difficulties getting started without professional guidance, leading to the risk of wasting valuable time viewing properties that fall outside their budget or requirements.
The Solution
Design a user-friendly and responsive web app for new homebuyers and small-scale property buyers. By personalizing property listings to their preferences and needs, and offering reliable, easily understandable information. Empowering users to make confident, well-informed decisions throughout their property search journey.

The Design
First, I crafted user stories inspired by Rashida. Then, the user flows took shape, leading to the creation of low-fi wireframes.
As a user, I want to create a profile containing all my property criteria, so that I am recommended results most relevant to me.

The Moodboard
In my research on real estate websites, I noticed a common trend – they all looked remarkably alike with similar colors and vibes. I decided to create two unique moodboards, specifically tailored to Rashida's lifestyle and preferences.
I opted for Moodboard 1, which features a colorful, bold, and clean aesthetic.

The Iterations
Looking back at my user, Rashida, I went through numerous iterations. Each step involved fine-tuning and making necessary adjustments along the way to ensure the best possible outcome. The iterative process proved to be instrumental in creating a design that perfectly aligns with Rashida's needs and wants.
Onboarding
During the onboarding process, Rashida is given the freedom to customize her preferences for the kind of property she desires. This includes specifying the size, price range, location, and amenities nearby. By providing this personalized experience, we empower Rashida to embark on her property search journey with confidence, knowing that the platform is tailored to her unique needs and desires.

After completing the onboarding process, Rashida will be greeted with a new screen displaying listings that perfectly match the preferences she customized earlier. This tailored result ensures that she immediately sees properties that align with her unique requirements, saving her time and providing a more satisfying user experience.

What went well?
Successfully tailored Perfect Properties to perfectly fit Rashida's needs, ensuring that all her requirements were met. A distinctive approach introduced unique elements to the design, setting it apart from others. Furthermore, the app maintains a consistent and coherent feel, resulting in a seamless and enjoyable user experience.
Key challenges
During the project, I faced several challenges in crafting the UI design. One key challenge was striking the right balance between familiarity and innovation. I aimed to create a design that users would recognize and feel comfortable with, yet different enough to provide an improved experience compared to other similar web-apps.
Another challenge was having only one User Persona, which limited my perspective to a single user type. Considering multiple User Personas would have helped me design for a broader range of users, ensuring a more inclusive and user-friendly interface.
As a solo project, I lacked access to researchers, stakeholders, or potential users, which meant I missed out on valuable insights and feedback. This limited my ability to optimize the design and identify potential usability issues.
What didn’t go well?
While Perfect Properties was designed successfully for Rashida, I believe the inclusion of multiple User Personas would have been beneficial in creating a more inclusive and appealing product for a wider range of users. Understanding the perspectives and needs of different user types would have allowed for a more comprehensive design approach. Additionally, the lack of external feedback and opinions limited the project's potential for further refinement and enhancements. Collaborating with others and seeking diverse feedback could have contributed to a more robust and user-centered design.
Future steps
For future improvements, conducting user testing would be a top priority. Gathering feedback from potential users will help identify usability issues, pain points, and areas that need improvement. Additionally, integrating accessibility considerations into the design process is crucial to ensure the web app is usable and inclusive for all users, including those with disabilities. By implementing these steps, the UI/UX design of the "Perfect Properties" project can become more refined, user-friendly, and cater to a wider audience.
